Fairview Village thinks about repurposing old office buildings

Fairview Villages head office and administration were previously based on the main property site at 30 Sargent Street in units that were built in 1957 and 1960. These units were built to originally be offered as housing for members of Warragul’s aging community and as needs changed and Fairview Village grew, these units were then repurposed into office space.

Saying goodbye to old buildings reminds us of an era gone bye, the paper trails, stamp pads and books, dictionaries and notebooks, filing cabinets and the memos! Let’s not forget á time also where cigarette smoking was at your desk. Times have certainly changed.

The recent move has been welcomed by the organisation to support growth, technology upgrades, and operational business improvements as well as providing a home base for the new brand and it’s executive and leadership teams. The building is also a fabulous space to host resident gathering and events that support the village community.

Fairview Villages CEO, Dianne Wallace and her Board are now thinking about the spaces that have been vacated and how best to utilise these in coming years. With Fairview’s strong focus on local community needs, these 8 units could just be ripe for another repurpose into accommodation options to support the ever-increasing homelessness issues that we face here in Gippsland that are also trending around the State. One thing is for sure, Fairview will not let an opportunity go by in particular if it will benefit the community, so watch this space.
